The Buzz Is Real: ID. Buzz Named 2025 World Car Design of the Year
At Bill Jacobs Volkswagen, we’re thrilled to share that the revolutionary Volkswagen ID. Buzz—a bold reimagining of the beloved VW Microbus that’s capturing hearts (and awards), was recently awarded the 2025 World Car Design of the Year. The ID. Buzz is more than just a stylish ride—it’s a statement.
From the moment you lay eyes on it, it’s clear the ID. Buzz isn’t your typical electric vehicle. It blends retro charm with futuristic innovation, offering a fresh take on what driving electric can look and feel like. With its iconic VW logo, eye-catching two-tone paint options, and playful design touches, it’s a vehicle that invites both nostalgia and excitement for what’s next.
“We set out to create an electric vehicle that not only pays homage to the iconic Microbus but also propels us into the future of automotive design,” said Kjell Gruner, President and CEO of Volkswagen Group of America. “The ID. Buzz is our brand’s electric soul—a halo that radiates fresh energy and excitement.”
Inside, the ID. Buzz is just as impressive. It offers generous seating for up to seven passengers, expansive legroom and headroom, and a thoughtfully designed cabin filled with personality. You’ll find a large 12.9-inch infotainment display, 30-color ambient lighting, and a striking electrochromic panoramic glass roof that can dim at the touch of a button. There are even clever little “Easter Eggs” tucked throughout, proving the design team had as much fun creating it as you’ll have driving it.
Backed by VW’s commitment to sustainability and innovation, the ID. Buzz delivers all-electric performance without compromising comfort or style. Starting at $59,995 MSRP (plus $1,550 destination charge), it’s ready to usher in a new era of electric driving—with a wink to the past.
Want to experience the ID. Buzz for yourself? Come see us at Bill Jacobs Volkswagen and get ready to fall in love with the future of driving.
